Exercising for Older Adults
Exercising helps people stay healthy. For many, it is difficult to exercise due to certain health conditions or because they are busy. Moreover, older adults might think of exercise as something they don't want to do. However, exercising can help reduce the risk of early death. More than enough studies have been conducted confirming that exercising will improve a person's health. Walking, bicycling, or swimming are exercises needed to get those muscles moving.
For anyone over the age of 60, an hour of exercising may be too much. 30 minutes or 15 minutes is better than doing no exercises. Obviously, the more a person exercises the better for the body. However, the older a body gets the weaker it will become. If the body cannot handle it due to age, then a few minutes is good enough to stay healthy.
Any exercise for any period is better than no exercise. Many older adults do not exercise, their reasons are their own. Whatever the reasons, people should consistently move around as much as they can every day. It is their health at risk after all.
