Exercising in Cold Weather

Ah, cold weather. We all love it. Well, some do. We sure don't like getting sick. During the winter, people stay indoors as much as possible. Even when exercising. The gyms get crowded because people do not want to run in the rain. Some tips to avoid getting sick after running in the rain.

Wear Fewer Clothes

There is no need to hide in the gym when it is raining outside. Also, if planning to run outside when raining don't put more clothes on. Definitely, do not put on clothes made of cotton. Cotton acts like a sponge absorbing water getting heavier. It is more weight when running. Instead, wear lighter clothes. Clothes made of a material that will not absorb water.

Hydration

It is necessary to stay hydrated all year round, not just in the summer. You could run with your head thrown back and your mouth wide open to catch the falling water. Although, that would not be a great running form. Drink plenty of water.

Strip the Wet Clothes

As soon as the run is over, go home and remove the wet clothes. Dry yourself and get into dry clothes as soon as possible. Not doing so, you will easily get sick. As for the wet shoes, dry them or use a different pair the next time you go for a run.

Be Cautions

With so much water on the ground and lots of potholes, be sure to be careful where your feet land. The water may be hiding something that may injure you. Leave distractions at home, like your phone.
